Winter Camping Checklist: - Hat/Scarf (best if you have one with ear protection) (If it is cold in your sleeping area, you may want to wear a hat to bed since your head is the only part of your body NOT in the sleeping bag) - Gloves - Coat - Base layer (long underwear) - Insulating layer (Fleece) - Shirts (at least one extra for weekend) - Pants (at least one extra for weekend) - Snow pants - Socks (preferably wool or synthetic material) - Boots (water proof if possible) - Slippers/"indoor" shoes - Sunglasses - Flashlight - Sled (for sledding AND to haul gear!) - Helmet for sledding - Sleeping bag - Sleeping pad and/or blanket - Pillow - Personal hygiene items (soap, antibacterial wipes, toothpaste/toothbrush, medications etc.) - Lip balm - Sunscreen - Plastic bag WATER BOTTLE! (even in winter one of our greatest threats to personal health is dehydration! Drink Water!!) MUG for hot beverages (this minimizes use of disposable cups) Optional: - Cards/Games - Camera - Rope/Clothesline - Knife (adults and scouts with Whittling Chip only!) - Compass/GPS - Matches/Lighter (ADULTS ONLY) - NO ELECTRONIC GAMING DEVICES FOR SCOUTS! - UNIFORMS ARE NOT REQUIRED AT THIS EVENT Locations: Be sure to check which location we are camping at for your specific trip.
